The release brought several improvements that improved usability (e.g. faster "drag & drop" category management in the class/variable manager, more flexible group editing for many elements), and fixed many bugs. However, this is a matter of personal preference.

Missing pre-made templates: Although the system now works with components, beginners may still miss several templates and block sets. For now, we can make up for this with external libraries.

What many have shown

The most popular video and blog presentations are mainly the following
elements are highlighted:

Visual CSS Grid Builder – visual editing of grids appears in many developer blogs and videos, as it significantly speeds up layout design.

Font Manager and Icon Manager – managing fonts and icons in a separate panel, with previews and categories, makes it easier to select design elements.

Command Palette – quick access to the panel is included in most presentations, as it gives the editor a new workflow.

Nested Components – the embeddability of components enables modular design, which is the basis of the modern development approach.

AI and Bricks – where does the future lie?

Bricks 2.0 itself does not include built-in artificial intelligence, but the community is already working on AI integrations. SleekWPappearing at SleekAI module allows you to generate AI-generated content in Bricks text fields with the /ai command, and to request answers from models locally in the editor. The plugin uses your own OpenAI or Anthropic API keys, so you don't have to switch to another interface. The same package can also create chatbots from the content of pages created in Bricks; chatbots can be placed in the admin area or frontend, and their appearance can be matched to the design.

Among Bricks' official experts, developers who integrate AI into websites have also appeared. ai4biz For example, with 25 years of development experience and AI expertise, he creates Bricks-based websites that automate, support lead generation, and provide business intelligence. This indicates that the Bricks ecosystem is open to AI, and more AI features are expected to emerge in the future.

Summary and call to action

Bricks 2.0 is a milestone in the world of WordPress page builders: most of the features requested by the community have arrived, the interface has been transformed, and performance has been accelerated. And the 2.0.1 release quickly fixed the first bugs. However, mastering the new features takes time and practice, and the changes to the CSS cascade require special attention. For us web developers and content creators, this new version provides even more opportunities to create an efficient workflow behind spectacular, fast, and responsive websites.

Do you have a question or want a website?

Are you already using the Bricks builder and have questions about the new features?
